guilty pleasure.

Earlier this week, I shared my two recent love affairs, one with Rent the Runway and another with my Instax camera--plus I've gotten your amazing assistance in planning our upcoming girls weekend {thank you so much!}.

Today, I want to share one of my newest guilty pleasures with you. I also have a pretty good feeling I may be creating a new series of sorts because I have plenty of guilty pleasures...hello, mac&cheese and spoonfuls of JIF peanut butter ;)

In any case, meet Cosmopolitan Bride

You might be asking yourself why a newlywed still buys wedding magazines...and I'm sure my husband asks the same thing. Truth be told, I still love them. It goes without saying that Martha Stewart Weddings {or as I call it, MSW} is my long-standing favorite.

I found this gem of a magazine about a year ago in the bottom tier of the magazine rack at Barnes & Noble. Or maybe it found me. The covers are always dreamy and I have to admit to picking up at least three copies over the last 12 months.

Direct from the UK, Cosmopolitan Bride manages to take a touch of Martha and add in a hint of British charm, creating a heavenly blend of photos and stories. Let's be honest, there are only so many times I can handle the repetitive ads in our American wedding magazines. Everything is new and fresh to me--and it seems like the Brits really have the whimsical feel down pat.

I guess it's convenient to love a British bridal magazine when Prince William is months away from marrying his new princess. I really can't wait to see what they run with in the coming months...I just hope other B&N patrons will leave my guilty pleasure alone.

At $9.95 a pop, I can't justify buying every issue because...let's be honest, I'm married...but it doesn't do anyone any harm, right? I'll just stockpile a few ideas for my {yet-to-be-engaged} girl friends...

Are there any other newlyweds who struggle to put down the wedding magazines? I sure hope I'm not alone...but something tells me I'm not ;) Or do you have any funny guilty pleasures? I'd love to hear about them!

Happy almost Friday everyone!
xoxo {av}

P.S. Even Lucy gets in on the action...

  3. Your photos are incredible! And though I'm not even close to marriage, I feel like understand because I, uh, have my wedding dress picked out. And an engagement ring. Aaaand maybe the venue for the reception. Just because you're a newlywed (or too young, in my case) doesn't mean you can't appreciate pretty bridal editorials! :)

  8. I have yet to buy a bridal magazine, but that doesn't mean I don't spend 30 minutes in the grocery store looking at them! I have a longtime boyf (6 years!) and I think I would jinx it if I actually bought one!

  11. I've never seen that magazine....but it looks so cute. I always found wedding mags so overwhelming that after the big day I never picked one up again. But I do love looking at Martha's lovely wedding ideas online....she's pretty amazing.

    I think my new guilty pleasure may actually be the upcoming Royal wedding. :D EEEP! I'm so very excited about it...I've told my husband not to plan anything for me that day because I'll probably be glued to the tv. the. entire. time.

  14. I used to read wedding magazines in middle school- they're so much fun, even if you're NOT planning a wedding! I completely get it.

  21. There is no way eating peanut butter straight from the jar is a guilty pleasure. It is completely healthy and everyone should partake in it:)
