they met at a bar.

I met {vp} in January 2008...on what can best be described as a "blind friend date".
She had just moved to the DC area from Indiana {the state we both call home} and
knew only one soul in the city...who just so happens to be her now fiance {kl}!

They met at a bar during her interview to get a big girl job in DC--
just about two weeks before she and I met. I knew from our first meeting at
Noodles & Company that she was the real deal. {kl} did everything to make her feel
welcome in the big city--and I tried to do the same! Over the years, she has been
one of those friends for which you count your blessings...she made the long
distance with {cv} infinitely easier with girly sleepovers and fun dinner dates.
She even sent me flowers when I was having a rough time...hello awesome!
We shared so many fantastic memories in our years together in Washington...
and I'm so grateful to call her my friend!

When I received an email from {kl} last night, I squealed with delight!
It contained a perfect someecards with a link to this little bit of Youtube perfection:

Unless you received this beauty from them, I hate to tell you...but you're not invited! {Thankfully, that email = our ticket to their fabulous affair!} I'm SO impressed with their creativity and ingenuity with their save-the-date! If there was ever a tone to be set for a wedding, I think {vp} and {kl} set the bar high! {cv} and I couldn't be happier to see them
making it official this September. {vp} now works in the wedding industry {cue jealousy},
so this is sure to be one heckuva wedding! We're so honored to be included in
their celebration and are so excited for 9.17.2011!
Have you ever received anything like this in your inbox?
Are there any new wedding trends you're loving these days?!

Hope you have a fabulous Wednesday, dear followers! I promise to get back to all your
comments soon...I've been swamped with work and class, so please forgive me!
One day closer to the WEEKEND! xoxo {av}

  16. This whole thing just makes me miss Washington DC so much. I loved Noodles & Company and believe it or not...people are WAY MORE friendly there than down here in Charleston, SC I had many blind friend dates there :) I can't watch the video (at work) but, from all the comments so far it must be great. Good luck with school stuff!

  27. What an adorable Save the Date, and I love that it tells the story of their courtship! You are a lucky girl to have found such a fast friend-I scored with a San Francisco friend (a city where I knew one person, my roommate) who answers the phone in the middle of the night and always knows when you need pizza and champagne! What would we do without those girls?

  29. You will really never know what can happen in a simple meeting. Who knows that you can find your future partner in a bar? Just like the stories that I write my essay fast, where love stories begins to bloom and last a lifetime.
