friday's fancies #76.

Happy almost weekend, friends! It's Friday's Fancies time again :) This week, we're reprising the color crush theme--one that I know many of you had a lot of fun with last time around. On Tuesday, I told you that I've been finding lots of encouragement to push the limits color-wise this spring. Case in point: my outfit below! Featuring punchy primary colors, I took a step outside my comfort zone while still staying true to my style. I hope you like it!

It isn't the first time you've seen a one-shoulder Shoshanna dress in a Friday's Fancies post, but this Lace Alexis One Shoulder Dress knocks my socks off. The lemony yellow just pops!

For a big dose of color without breaking the bank, these Loren Hope Sophia Studs do just the trick. The gorgeous fuschia color had me at hello :)

This bold Kate Spade Bright Spark Bangle is a perennial favorite of mine. Season after season, Kate Spade produces these happy beauties--and I'd love to call one my own.

Strappy and sweet, these KORS Michael Kors Albury High Heel Sandals add an extra dose of sass to this ensemble. They would help this short lady feel tall for once!

If the earrings or the bangle didn't give you enough of a "pop", this Kate Spade Gold Coast Ginnie will. This quilted beauty hits a high note for its stunning color and perfect size.

If you’d like to join in for Friday’s Fancies next week, I'd love to have you! Click here to find out more. {cv} and I will be jetting to the Dominican Republic tomorrow for a family wedding. Be sure to follow me on instagram so I can share a dose of the tropics with you! A very happy Mother's Day {and birthday!!} to my dear mother {cnn}--and to all the moms out there! As always, many thanks to those of you linking up--it sounds cliché, but I live for Fridays ;) Enjoy your weekend!

friday's fancies #75.

A very happy Friday to you! With the Derby and Cinco de Mayo on the docket this weekend, I couldn't decide on just one Friday's Fancies theme. I thought it would be best to leave that up to you! Growing up just an hour from the Kentucky Derby festivities, I have always had a soft spot for the races. My dream Derby outfit would be much like the one below! If you want a peek at my Cinco de Mayo inspiration, check out my post on College Prep :)

Disclaimer: This is a very Lilly Pulitzer and Kate Spade-heavy Friday's Fancies post--indulge me!

1) The bold bow on this Lilly Pulitzer Amberly Strapless Dress had me at hello! The perennially preppy combo of pink and green just pops against the solid bow.
2) This softer Kate Spade Little Miss Kaelin Crossbody Bag was the ideal choice against the fabulous Pink Twinkle pattern from Lilly.
3) With six possible colors, I'd love to make a stack with these colorful Lilly Pulitzer Knotty Bangles!
4) These Kate Spade Gumdrop Earrings provide a sweet touch {literally}, without distracting from all the fabulous in this ensemble.
5) These bold Kate Spade Ginger Sandals provide the perfect pop of color.
6) It wouldn't be a Derby look without a gorgeous statement hat like this one from Eric Javits.

This Friday would only be better if we could all be celebrating together! I simply cannot thank you enough for taking the time to linking up for Friday's Fancies. This family of ours is positively amazing--I'm in awe of you all each and every week.

If you’d like to join in for Friday’s Fancies next week, click here to find out more :) Whether you're celebrating Cinco de Mayo or enjoying the Derby hype {or something entirely different!}, I hope you have a fabulous weekend--I'll see you Monday!

friday's fancies #74

A very happy Friday to each of you! Greetings from sunny Miami :) {cv} and I made it late yesterday morning and have been loving a little break from our every day. With a few date nights on the docket while we’re in town, I thought it might make for a fun Friday’s Fancies theme. Whatever the date night--whether it is a movie night at home or a swanky night out on the town--there is always a special look to go with it. It doesn’t have to be fancy, but it is certainly allowed. I went all out this week, so thank you for indulging me! Enjoy…

1) Though a bright red dress may screams date night, I went with something a little softer and more romantic in this Shoshanna Draped One Shoulder Dress.
2) These Kendra Scott Carlone Chandelier Statement Earrings are white hot, literally. They would certainly hold their own against the gorgeous lilac of the one-shoulder number.
3) For a bold pop of color, this Rebecca Minkoff Ostrich Beau Clutch would do just the trick. I’d feel like a bombshell with this beauty on my shoulder.
4) Simple and sweet, this set of J.Crew Gold Bangles is kind on the wallet, not to mention would be beautiful on the wrist.
5) Stuart Weitzman would put the perfect final touch on this date night ensemble with these Mischief Glitter-Coated Leather Slingback Sandals.

As always, I am so excited to see what you all pulled together for this week’s round of Friday’s Fancies, be it a date night look or another fabulous concoction. I’d love to wear my saucy little number this weekend in Miami, but I’ll be more than content with my looks from Rent the Runway. {When you rent, it’s as if a magical closet appears in your hotel room--it’s amazing!}

If you’d like to join in for Friday’s Fancies one week down the line, click here to find out more :) Enjoy every minute of your weekend, friends! I’ll see you on Monday!

P.S. I cannot WAIT for tomorrow’s Blogger Blitz Miami! Keep your eyes peeled in the coming weeks--I have big announcements coming on new Blitz locales :) And--last but not least, don't miss my guest post on Join the Gossip!

friday's fancies #73.

Happy Friday, sweet friends! It's {finally} time for another round of Friday's Fancies :) This week, I decided we should all get primped for a picnic. The only thing that would make this Friday any better? If we could all wear these outfits--while having one huge picnic together. le sigh. A girl can dream, right? This is how I would get primped for a picnic...

1) For only $59, this Gap Gingham Linen Dress isn't my most extravagant pick, but then again, I don't think there are many dresses more picnic-appropriate than this one ;) The red + white check brings me back to my childhood--and fabulous meals of fresh-off-the-grill burgers and corn on the cob.
2) A gorgeous pair of sunglasses is another picnic requirement. These Elizabeth and James Lexington Sunglasses would do just the trick! {It goes without saying that good sunscreen is also mandatory!}
3) Bringing the blue to the classic red + white combo makes this ensemble quite patriotic, I know. I couldn't help it when I saw this perfect J.Crew Droplet Necklace. It would also complement the neckline of this dress beautifully!
4) Part tote and part picnic basket, this Kate Spade Point Breeze Tote could play both roles without any issue. As a lover of bows, this beauty certainly caught my eye.
5) For a stellar pair of sandals, I have been eyeing this pair of cork Gigis from Sam Edelman. They are easy and fun--and don't complicate the bold pattern of the dress.
6) My dream picnic wouldn't be complete without a little vino, specifically a bottle of The Pinot Project Pinot Noir. I've had my share of great wines, but when I need an easy go-to, this is it! {The label is what first drew me in--are you surprised?}

If you'd like to join the Friday's Fancies family--it's easy! Click here to get the themes in your inbox every Monday. Your only other requirement? To dream big! So excited to see all of the ensembles you all create for this week :) I count myself as one of the luckiest bloggers on the face of the planet because of all of you! Thank you for taking the time out of your crazy schedules to join in for Friday's Fancies week after week--it means the world to me. Happy weekend!

friday's fancies #72.

Hello there, Friday! It's good to see you ;) For this week's Friday's Fancies, we're dreaming in pastels. I only wish the weather in New England would cooperate with my overwhelming desire to sport some of these happy hues. Here is a soft and sweet ensemble I would love to wear later this spring...

1) This J.Crew Faded Chambray Popover is three things: easy, breezy, and downright happy. I know I could wear this now until September and would never tire of it.
2) Rose Gold had me thinking of pastels, so this ensemble features a few pieces in that tone--including these Michael Kors Sparkle All Over Earrings. Soft and sparkly, these beauties are just right!
3) Light-hearted and lovely, this Alex Monroe Rose Gold-Plated Bumblebee Necklace buzzed its way into my heart. It's perfectly playful--I only wish I could snap my fingers and have it in my jewelry box.
4) Coral ranks among my favorite hues, so it is no surprise these J Brand 811 Mid-Rise Twill Skinny Jeans made their way into my pastel pretty look.
5) I've been obsessed with Michael Kors watches for quite some time, but this Dylan Watch may be the one which finally pushes me over the edge. It would certainly stand out from the crowd!
6) Only in my Friday's Fancies will you ever see Prada. I may never be able to afford these Patent Leather Flat Sandals, but I can choose whatever my heart desires for FF--so I did ;)

friday's fancies #71.

Happy Friday! I've been waiting for this week's Friday's Fancies. Why? I'm in dire need of some inspiration on how to wear one of this spring's hottest trends: florals. Every week, I get ideas from all of you on how to "make it work," as Tim Gunn would say. The outfit below seems perfect for a bright and cheery Easter brunch, though we don't have plans which require such a fashion forward get-up. In my book, half the fun is being able to pretend where I'd actually wear the outfit ;) Enjoy!

1) I'll admit I found this springy and sweet Stripe Pico Shirt from Madewell before I found the floral fabulousness for my bottom half.
2) With the stripes and florals in this ensemble, this Kate Spade Beverly Boulevard Short Necklace will provide a little balance ;)
3) This Alice + Olivia Riley A-Line Skirt may be a bit loud, but the florally goodness in this beauty cannot be overlooked.
4) Tory Burch nails it with this Robinson Envelope Clutch. Simple and chic, it is versatile enough to rock with almost any outfit this spring and summer.
5) These Elizabeth and James Prim Wedges take a backseat to the patterns in this outfit, but they still hold their own.

Join the Friday's Fancies family by clicking here--we'd love to have you! If you're linking up, don't forget to use the name of your blog in the "caption/title" box. You deserve all the love and recognition for your post. I am amazed, week after week, by the incredible posts you ladies create! I count my blessings for each and every one of you :) Hope my flower power passed the test--see you all on Monday!

friday's fancies #70.

What makes for a great Friday!? Friday's Fancies, of course! I may be biased, but seeing all the gorgeous outfits from across the blogosphere makes me one very happy lady :) April is right around the corner--can you believe it?! In order to be prepared for the inevitable April showers, this week is all about being rainy day chic. Here is my little contribution to the round-up...

1) I've had my sights set on a jacket from Ali Ro for ages. This Classic Waxed Jacket ups the ante for any normal rain coat. I would die to sport any of their colorful coats!
2) For a little pop of yellow, these Loren Hope Sophia Studs hit a home run. Without a doubt, these beauties would brighten any rainy day.
3) My husband, {cv}, is a Mainer, so I have a soft spot for all things Maine. This Seabags Maine Tote would certainly keep the showers at bay--and play up the preppy factor!
4) When you combine two of my favorites--chambray and polka dots, you get this fabulous Polka-Dot Cotton-Chambray Top from Levi's Made + Crafted. It could be paired with any color denim and look amazing. Sign me up.
5) I am constantly on the hunt for a perfect pair of white jeans. If these J Brand Jainey Skinny Jeans found their way into my closet, I would be thrilled to sport them all summer long. Sure, there's a certain danger to wearing white in the rain, but this is a dream outfit, so it works! ;)
6) Though I own a deep purple pair of Hunters, I've had my eye on a bright pair of their Original Boots for as long as I can remember. I don't know if I could ever really rock the yellow, but I'd love to try.

friday's fancies #69.

A very happy Friday to you! This week, Friday's Fancies is devoted to a little something known as March Madness. Whether you're a basketball fan or not, I know most people have an allegiance to one team or another ;) Though my Georgetown Hoyas didn't make it past the round of 32, I'm still proud of them for making the Big Dance. As an Indiana native and the daughter of two IU alums, I am still excited to cheer on my Hoosiers tonight! Since the Hoyas are out of the mix, this is what I would wear our with my besties from Georgetown while still repping my blue and gray.

1) Glamming up this ensemble is this stunning Parker Color Block Tank Dress. The sequins sold it for me, but the simplicity of the top half helped to balance this beauty.
2) With rolled up sleeves, I can just picture this J Brand Slim Stretch-Denim Jacket paired with the Parker dress. The sparkle factor is still there, but suddenly, the jean jacket makes the dress infinitely more versatile.
3) I own this Butter London '3 Free' Polish in Diamond Geezer and wearing it makes everything a little more fun. I add it to my normal nail routine with the fourth finger trick you see everywhere ;) I love the idea of sporting it with this ensemble because it kicks it up yet another notch.
4) By removing the heel factor, the idea of a jean jacket and a sparkly dress comes together--especially with these sweet J.Crew Lilibeth Patent Sandals
5) J.Crew nails it again with their Martha Bracelet. Paired with denim or sequins, it is the perfect complement to any outfit. I'm dying to get one on my wrist!
6) I know silver isn't technically gray, but for today's purposes, I'm pretending it is. This Metallic Satchel from the Cambridge Satchel brand keeps the shine factor going :)

This March Madness get-up may be slightly unconventional, but I'm still loving it. Even if you don't have an outfit devoted to your basketball team of choice, I'd love for you to link up an outfit you'd love to wear from this week :) Be sure to use your blog name so your blog gets the recognition it deserves!

friday's fancies #68.

Happy almost St. Patrick's Day! Though my blood is only 1/8 Irish, I still love all the festivities which surround this holiday. Since Friday's Fancies is all about dreaming big, here is what I would wear to a warm St. Patty's celebration in a destination like Savannah ;)

1) The perfect dress to transition from spring to summer, this emerald green Parker Racer Pleat Dress was the clear winner for this week's Friday's Fancies! It is flirty without being overly revealing--and works beautifully with or without the blazer below.
2) I've had my eye out for months now for something like this Splendid Palm Beach Striped Blazer. It would pair beautiful with bold solids or fun florals. Though my spending freeze is still in effect, you better believe I'll be watching for this beauty to go on sale so I can rock it later this summer out on the cape :)
3) Since this outfit is a dreamy one, I can pick this Mulberry Braided Leather Belt. Sure, there are plenty of other braided belts out there--but this one just looked like the ideal choice to cinch the waist of the Parker dress.
4) It wouldn't be a Friday's Fancies from yours truly without a little touch of Kate Spade ;) These Double Exposure Earrings combine the navy from the blazer and emerald from the dress to tie it all together!
5) Who doesn't need a great pair of Fryes in their closet? I know I do! {Ok, if you're just not into cowboy boots, I understand--but bear with me here!} For more years than I can count, I have been waiting on just the right shade and shape and these 'Jane 14' Tall Pull-On Boots hit both of my requirements. I know what else I'll be saving for soon!
6) In my opinion, fantastic navy bags are hard to find, so when I spied this Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC Bag, I knew it would be the ideal piece for this festive ensemble. Though it isn't green, it would be perfect to wear while traipsing down River Street and around the squares in Savannah.

Click here to join the mailing list so you can get the theme in advance :) The ladies of Friday's Fancies could quite possibly be some of the most supportive and kind bloggers in the blogosphere--and would make you feel right at home!

friday's fancies #67.

Hello friends! It's finally time for another round of Friday's Fancies! After a slightly warmer week in New England, I am aching for spring break. It is just too bad my school days are behind me ;) Happily, I can still pull together an outfit even if I am stuck in the cold! Friday's Fancies allows me to dream big without really breaking the bank, so without further ado, here is my fancy-free beachy look:

1) Anything with stripes and bows has my name all over it. From the moment I spotted this J.Crew Skinny-Stripe Bow Underwire Tank Swimsuit, I knew it was the perfect suit for this round-up. It is happy, cheery, and perfect for a worry-free day at the beach--slathered in sunscreen of course.
2) From the beach to everyday, I am positively itching to add this Penfield Boyfriend Chambray Shirt to my closet after my spending freeze is over. Tucked into the maxi, it would be a clear winner in my book!
3) These tortoise Rory Round Sunglasses from Kate Spade need to magically appear in my sunnies rotation. They are timeless and chic--an ideal combination.
4) Though I could never afford this Mason by Michelle Mason Silk Crepe de Chine Maxi Skirt, being able to pretend I could via Friday's Fancies eliminates that worry ;) Purple and yellow may not be the most common combination, but it screams spring to me!
5) Hello, Mara Hoffman Rope Bag. I honestly don't think a more versatile beach bag exists. I could carry it tomorrow--or in ten years--and it would pair beautifully with anything.
6) Painless to slip off and stow in a beach bag, this Tory Burch Wide Resin Bracelet is an easy choice. I also love pieces which work year-round--and this beauty would!
7) On a beach vacation, these Rebecca Minkoff Beach Babe Strappy Sandals wouldn't take up much space in a suitcase, but they would certainly pack a punch. Until I can afford them, I'll just wear my Rainbows and my Sperrys ;)

friday's fancies #66.

Hello lovelies--and happy Friday! We're doing the tango today...the Tangerine Tango, that is! In honor of Pantone's Color of the Year, this week's Friday's Fancies is devoted to this happy hue. Whether you love or hate the color orange, it is popping up everywhere these days. Anchored by this vibrant color, my look takes tangerine to another level--though I love it in small doses too ;)

1) I'm a perennial fan of Shoshanna, so when I spotted this Cotton Dress, I knew I'd hit the tangerine jackpot! The silhouette and print make it stylish today--and in many more tomorrows.
2) Another piece which screams "instant classic" is this Tory Burch Robinson Large Shoulder Bag. Slim line and chic, I only wish I could snap my fingers and have this stunner on my shoulder.
3) Versatile and voluminous, these Kenneth Jay Lane Gold Teardrop Earrings are the perfect complement to this vivacious print. They would certainly amp up the volume of any outfit this spring!
4) The structure and the strappiness of these Jimmy Choo Gael Strappy Leather Sandals need a home--in my closet. These beautifully executed heels would make me feel like a million bucks in no time.
5) BaubleBar crafted a winner in this Brushed Gold Dome Bangle. It may look simple, but this bangle would make quite the statement.

Endless love to my Friday's Fancies faithful! I am beyond excited to see where you take this theme :) Be sure to use your blog name when you add your post below--you deserve all the credit for your hard work! Thank you so much for stopping by {long distance loving} today: with every visit, comment, tweet, or repin, you. make. my. day.  I cannot thank you enough! Have a happy weekend!

friday's fancies #65.

Happy Friday! With the Oscars on Sunday, we are primping this week for Friday's Fancies for our own walk down Hollywood Boulevard. Since I "rocked" the red carpet in my Oscars-inspired Friday's Fancies last year, I decided to take a different spin on Hollywood Glam this time around! It has always been a dream of mine to walk the red carpet, but not as a celebrity. I would love to be the girl who plays a supporting role to the stars--as a personal assistant. I know it's random, but I would love all the craziness. Here's what I would wear if I had that chance...

1) This Tibi Jacquard Ruffled Dress is a stunner from the front--and the back. It brings just the right amount of drama, without taking away from the main event {aka the stars!}.
2) Though my dress may not be Oscar de la Renta, this 24-Karat Gold-Plated Crystal Necklace does bear the infamous designer's name. The long rose gold chain and the brilliantly colored stones make it a definite winner in my book.
3) I love to imagine carrying a little clutch like this Jimmy Choo Mini Tube, though I don't think I could ever limit myself to such a small purse in real life ;)
4) A little sparkle does the body good! These Anita Ko 14-Karat Rose Gold and Diamond Disc Earrings carry through the rose gold in the clutch and necklace and would pop against my brunette locks.
5) When I think of shoes worthy of the red carpet, I think of Christian Louboutin. These Mille Dam Patent Peep-Toe Platform Pumps would help me fit in with the sea of red soles.

I can't wait to see who wears what on Sunday, but I really can't wait see what you ladies created for today! Enjoy your weekend--I just wish we could all walk the red carpet together! I know we would turn heads :) psst: If you'd like to join in Friday's Fancies in future weeks, click here to add yourself to the mailing list! Many thanks to those of you linking up today...I hope you all have a phenomenal weekend!!
Enjoy the big show on Sunday!

friday's fancies #64.

Hello hello! I'm so excited to be teaming up with Lisa at Elembee, Etc. for a super special Friday's Fancies. We're dreaming really big this week by concocting a fanciful outfit to wear on a fabulous vacation! One destination on my travel bucket list? Greece! I would love to wear this number while strolling the streets in Santorini...

1) If you ask me, this J.Crew Seabreeze Maxidress screams Santorini. Wouldn't this brilliant blue be simply magical? I'd be sure to pair it with some SPF, in true sun savvy fashion.
2) These Kate Spade All Aboard Stud Earrings are perfect for a day at the seaside. I'd love for them to magically appear in my jewelry box ;)
3) I spied this Tuleste Market Braided Marble Necklace and it now occupies a place on my ultimate summer wardrobe wishlist. It could go with nearly everything--and would really make the cobalt of the dress pop!
4) Flat and functional, these Diane von Furstenberg Klee Toe Ring Flat Sandals would be the ideal pair to toss in a suitcase for an adventure in Greece.
5) With a little extra glam, these Gucci Oversized Sunglasses would amp up any vacation.
6) Though this is seriously an investment piece, I simply adore this Yves Saint Laurent Gold-Plated Rope-Inspired Cuff. I could wear it all summer long in the Ocean State. le sigh.

In the midst of a long, cold winter, I hope you all enjoyed this little chance to fly away! Many thanks again to Lisa for this incredible theme suggestion--be sure to stop by Elembee, Etc. to see her weekly "getaways"! So excited to see where each of you picked as an escape this week :) Thank you all so so much for taking the time to link up today! Have a fabulous {and hopefully long} weekend!

friday's fancies #63.

Hello lovelies! It is finally time for another round of Friday's Fancies :) I'm particularly pumped for this week because we're exploring a color combination I have been dying to try in real life...red + pink! With Valentine's Day on the horizon, I thought there was no better week to give it a go :) Even if you don't like the holiday, this mix of happy hues will surely brighten your Friday...

1) Lace wins my affection, yet again. This Roberto Rodriguez Lace Shift Dress is just a little slice of heaven. I know this dress would help me conquer pink once and for all!
2) These Kate Spade Bar None Huggie Earrings would lend a quick pop of red, without overtaking the stunning pink in the lacy masterpiece.
3) Pardon the second selection from Kate Spade, but I couldn't pass up this Triple Threat Faceted Bangle. A bold and beautiful bracelet like this one would most definitely stand the test of time.
4) When I set out for a red clutch, I wanted a bag with a cute twist. This Anya Hindmarch Maeve Crossbody Clutch passed the test with flying colors!
5) To avoid being too matchy-matchy, I opted for a nude pair of heels. If I could add these Christian Louboutin Leather Platform Pumps to my collection, I would be one very happy lady.

I know I'll be finding inspiration in your outfits this week :) I don't know about you, but I love being able to "shop" without spending a dime. I know I'm not alone! Many thanks to my Friday's Fancies faithful...
I hope you know your posts make my week! Happy Friday--I'll see you on Monday!

friday's fancies #62.

Happy Friday, friends! I'm so happy it's here :) This week's Friday's Fancies is all about channeling our spring fever into one outfit. Though I will admit {ever so quietly} that I've missed snow this season, I am very ready for spring to arrive! Though I'm loving neons and pastels for the spring, these tried and true stripes had me screaming for warmer weather. Enjoy this little peek into a springy outfit I'm dreaming of wearing now, even if it is only February 2nd...

1) Ever since I spotted Blair {from Atlantic-Pacific} in this Equipment Vintage Striped Washed-Silk Shirt, I knew it would have to be incorporated in a future Friday's Fancies. The navy and green combination rocks my world.
2) With the bold colors of the top, I wanted something a bit more subdued like these Michael Kors Large Gold Stud Earrings. They add a touch of sparkle, which you know is right up my alley.
3) Truth be told, I already own these J.Crew 3" Chino Shorts in a number of colors. Though I don't have the white pair, I thought they would be ideal for this ensemble--especially with spring in mind.
4) This Lauren Merkin Natural Raffia Clutch would match almost any springy get-up--I could see it paired with so many of the outfits I'm plotting for our trip to the Dominican in May!
5) A pair of these Kate Spade Victoria Metallic Leather Slingback Wedge Sandals would also make an incredible addition to my warmer weather shoe rotation. I'm sure I'll see them in my dreams for months to come...
6) J.Crew wins again with this Classic Jenna Bracelet. On the upside, this bracelet would work for all seasons!

I cannot wait to see the looks you lovely ladies put together this week! I know I'm shopping vicariously through Friday's Fancies until Operation Spending Freeze is over. If you would like to join in Friday's Fancies in the future, please email me and I'll add you to the list so you can get the themes in advance! If you have any other questions, please send them my way :) Until Monday, I hope you have an incredible weekend...and here's to hoping Punxsutawney Phil was wrong!

friday's fancies #61.

Happy Friday, friends! After a busy week, I love having Friday's Fancies as my light at the end of the tunnel ;) This week, many of the Friday's Fancies faithful {82 to be exact!} are paired up with one another--a true testament to the wonderful community you have all helped to create. I'm in awe!

Since the weather can't make up its mind this winter, I paying homage to colder temperatures with a big, fuzzy sweater. This outfit board should also include a fireplace, don't you think? sigh. Since we're meeting with our builder this weekend, I'll have to remind him a fireplace is a non-negotiable in our dream home!

1) All winter, I have been aching to rock the Fair Isle. This By Malene Birger Anninas Chunky-Knit Wool Cardigan would create a look which is far from frumpy. I just wish my budget would allow for it ;)
2) A gorgeous light gray like the one in this Rebecca Minkoff Love Spell Tri-Zip Satchel would make this bag a great addition to any wintry wardrobe. It most definitely cast a spell on me.
3) I really need to bite the bullet and get a pair of black jeans, but until then, I will dream of these Burberry Brit Mid-rise Skinny Jeans. The extra little details make them the ideal pair for me!
4) The bold beauties in this Shashi Eclipse Bracelet Set would make a statement and amp up the fun factor in this ensemble.
5) With so much action happening in the sweater, I didn't want overstated earrings, so these Michael Kors Pavé Pyramid Earrings were the perfect compromise. They add an ounce of sparkle to this get-up!
6) Right down to the toes, I'm swooning over these Giuseppe Zanotti Metallic Leather Captoe Ballet Flats. Though I know most women love heels, I am absolutely a flats fiend. I only wish I could add these to my collection!

Never-ending thanks to those of you linking up today! I am so excited to see your outfits and collaborations :) I just love this family of ours! If you want to join in the Friday's Fancies fun in future weeks, pretty please email me--and you'll get the themes {and future opportunities for blog swaps!} in your email every Monday. All my love to each of you today! So excited to see your looks!

friday's fancies #60.

I can't believe it, but here we are...a year into Friday's Fancies link-ups! From 6 to 102 bloggers, this incredible journey exceeded any of my wildest dreams! It has been amazing to watch this little idea grow into something bigger. I truly cannot thank you all enough for helping to make this "dreaming big" revolution happen. I cannot wait to see what the second year of Fancies brings.

This week, I thought it was time to exercise our creativity even more--by reworking an outfit you've seen across the blogosphere or pinterest into one of your own :) Jessica Alba inspired my outfit below...it is chic and sophisticated without being overdone. I hope you like it!

1) It doesn't get any more basic than a white v-nekc, but when it's by James Perse, it definitely ups the ante. I have a few of these Short-Sleeved V-Neck Tees in my closet from my retail days--and they're still my favorite.
2) These bold Oliver Peoples Eyewear Kosslyn Polarized Cat Eye Sunglasses create a fabulous impression from your first glance. I loved the touch of silver to keep them from overwhelming the face.
3) I wish my wardrobe could contain an endless supply of blazers like this one from Girl. by Band of Outsiders. You can amp up the chic factor over a basic white tee and not think twice ;)
4) Big enough for almost anything, this Marc Jacobs The Wellington Bag would make for a stunning addition to my handbag collection. I know our rent needs to be paid, but...
5) Kenneth Jay Lane stunned me {literally} with this Cubic Zirconia Necklace. I like that it isn't your basic diamond necklace and has a bit of an edge. I envision it layered with a number of other necklaces in my jewelry box, if it ever showed up on my doorstep!
6) Red pants make a statement and these Rag & Bone Skinny Corduroy Pants certainly do the trick. They take this black and white look to a whole new level.
7) Though I don't have the courage to rock these Maison Martin Margiela Leather Wedge Ankle Boots, I knew they were the perfect choice to round out this get-up. Who wouldn't love a little boost?

Jessica Alba makes a perfect muse, if you ask me. I hope I can look that put together after two little ones! She doesn't overcomplicate things and I adore her for that. I may never have her wardrobe, but I can certainly dream up my own versions of her outfits, right?! ;)

If you'd like to join the Friday's Fancies fun, pretty please send me an email and I'll add you to the weekly mailing list so you can know what's on the docket for next Friday. friday's fancies #59.

Who is happy it's Friday?! {ME!} I always anticipate 12:00am on Friday because it means the weekend is almost here...but more importantly, it is Friday's Fancies time again! This week, the theme is color crush, which meant it was my chance to indulge in my recent love of purple. My high school used this color as one of its own, so I was clothed from head to toe in purple for nearly eighteen years. I strayed away from the grape hue for quite a few moons, until recently that is. I can't get enough of the punch it packs--and only wish I could have the outfit below to do it justice! I'll just keep dreaming...

1) The grape-colored glory, which is this Alice + Olivia Caprice Cross Back Dress, is simple, stunning and just plain gorgeous. I adore the waistline and only wish I was daring enough to pull off that plunging v-neck!
2) I chose this Derek Lam Albertine Clutch because it kicked this outfit up a notch. It gives a nod to the classic side I love without being too, how shall I say, boring ;)
3) I didn't want to distract from the killer neckline of the dress, so I opted for a dramatic pair of earrings! These Belle Noel Black Leather Pyramid Stud Tassel Earrings might get caught in my curly locks, but for this outfit, they were a no-brainer.
4) Though I could never pull off these Jimmy Choo Patent Leather Sandals in the cold of winter, I can in my Friday's Fancies. I also thought they mimicked the cross back of the dress beautifully.
5) I have an affection for anything Wizard of Oz-related, so the name of this BaubleBar Yellow Brick Road Bracelet had me at hello. The bracelet also created a pleasant contrast between the black of the clutch and the purple of the dress.

Infinite amounts of gratitude coming to each and every one of you linking up this week :) Your posts definitely inspire me to try harder, so thank you from the bottom of my heart. {psst: Don't forget to use your blog name in the "title" box, so your post gets you all the credit you deserve.} Please email me if you'd like to join in the Friday's Fancies fun--I would love to have you join the family! Until Monday...

friday's fancies #58.

Hooray for the first Friday's Fancies of 2012! It only makes sense to focus on putting our best foot forward--with a fabulous pair of shoes ;) I am so excited to kick off the year with a bang and cannot wait to see what you ladies pull together! Without further ado, here is the outfit I'd love to rock tonight:

1) Tie shirts are all the rage this season, but beyond that, they're just plain chic. This Elizabeth and James Jamie Tie Shirt is simple and lovely--and would look great tucked in or left out.
2) I love little monograms, so these Gorjana Alphabet Single Stud Earrings were a perfect choice! They don't take away from the fabulosity of the shoes either, which is the last thing I want to do ;)
3) If you know me, you know that pink isn't my first color of choice {don't judge!}. I'm warming up to it though--and this Michael Kors Gia Clutch would be the ideal piece to help me overcome my fear of pink.
4) I own {and LOVE} these J.Crew Minnie Pants. {I won't tell you how many colors I have them in...} I love the look of cropped pants, especially when you want to bring a load of attention to your feet.
5) Hello amazing! I have been admiring these Kate Spade Karolina Pumps for months. When I decided on the theme, these shoes were my only choice. I love sparkle like most of you, but these shoes kick it up about a thousand notches. I'd love to have them in my closet!

My Friday's Fancies posts will always be my favorite of the week--because they give me a window into your blogs! This lovely group of bloggers who devote time each week to link up humble me every Friday. I'm so lucky to have found you in the blog world! If you'd like to join in the Friday's Fancies fun, email me if you'd like to get on the "heads-up" list :) Until Monday, here is a little toast:

friday's fancies #57.

Happy December 30th! Where did 2011 go?! I simply cannot believe this is the 50th Friday's Fancies link-up! I truly count my blessings week after week for those of you who take the time to link up with me on Fridays. It would be hard to pin down the exact number, but I estimated there have been almost 2500 posts devoted to dreaming big without breaking the bank. I seriously have to pinch myself after seeing that number! I am looking forward to 2012 and all it brings...especially with Friday's Fancies :) Since we'll be ringing in the new year tomorrow, it is the perfect opportunity to craft a NYE outfit!

1) I picked up this J.Crew Drapey Sequin Tank on super sale right before Christmas--and I cannot wait to sport it tomorrow night! I nabbed a light grey sequin tank over the summer and wore it a bunch, so I knew this black version would be the ideal base for my NYE outfit :)
2) Chains are a recent obsession of mine, so this Giles & Brother Silver and Hematite Multi-Chain Necklace called my name the moment I spotted it. I liked that this piece wasn't one dimensional and really brought some spunk to this get-up!
3) These Citizens of Humanity Ava Faith Straight-Leg Jeans are a staple in my wardrobe! I love that they're slightly higher waisted and make the dreaded "muffintop" a thing of the past.
4) I simply adore the bright pop of color this Bottega Veneta Intrecciato Silk-Moire Knot Clutch brings to the table. I don't know if I could ever pull off a clutch this small {or ever allow myself to buy one!}, but it's Friday's Fancies, so it works just beautifully.
5) Adding to the high-low mix in this outfit, I can't help but love this Splendid Ribbed Cotton and Modal-Blend Cardigan. It is the perfect way to bring this get-up back down to earth, so to speak ;)
6) I may have had these Tory Burch Eddie Jewel-Toe Scrunchy Ballerina Flats on a holiday wish list or two--and they're still on my mind. For a festive night in, they would rock the house!

I know some of you may be thinking: "this is her NYE outfit?" Don't judge--I'm spending the night going to dinner with my parents before joining my high school crew for a night of revelry at one of their houses. If I had the means to afford all of this outfit, I certainly would! Until then, I'll sport the few pieces I actually have. I can't wait to get some inspiration for how to complete my actual outfit from your posts! All my best for a fun and safe New Year's Eve...thanks again for everything you gave me in 2011 :)
