bronze(r) beauties.

As the temperatures slowly start to creep up this spring, getting a little color becomes a big priority. Thankfully, we can now get that color without hitting the tanning bed. Being sun savvy is incredibly important to me as a skin cancer survivor. Last spring, I pulled together a massive list of self tanners {or for the full-length pin here}. This year, I went a similar route and compiled 29 different facial bronzers in a variety of formulas and budgets. If you don't see your favorite below, be sure to leave it in the comments! I would also love your feedback on bronzers you love and loathe...

My favorite bronzer {as of late} is this one from Bobbi Brown. In my earlier days, I loved this very cost-effective one from Bonne Bell. One thing I've learned over the years is that the brush you use really does matter. I treated myself to this one with a giftcard this Christmas--and love it!

The biggest takeaway is that getting a faux glow doesn't have to be expensive. Being healthy is the most important. Using a bronzer with an SPF is the best plan. Your face will thank you when you're 60, I promise. I can't wait to hear your feedback on this bronzer debate :) xoxo {av}

  3. I don't really faux tan or tan in the sun. For me, it is not important to look tan. I do like having a bit of a warm glow. I use the Sephora highlighting compact powder in golden for that. You should have a look at it!

  8. I like the Jergens or Neutrogena gradual tan lotions. They give you a little bit of color without turning you orange. I usually don't use much, though, because the color doesn't look right on me. Red heads and tans don't mix! :D

  10. This is just what I need. My skin is pretty fair and I like to have a tan - but usually I can't get one and I don't like being too exposed to the sun anyway.

  11. my girls and I swear by the MAI Couture blotting papers - both the bronzer and the highlighter papers are fool proof and are great for travel. I've used the Guerlain Terracotta bronzer for YEARS and love it.

  15. Wow! Great list! I love the Bobbi Brown bronzer but always want to try something different. I thought about you when I talked my girlfriend out of going to a tanning bed for an upcoming wedding! I told her to go get a spray tan! Not worth it!!

  19. My favorite bronzer is the Bare Essentials bronzer in Warmth. It's really dark, so it's best for people with medium-dark skin tone. It gives such a beautiful sun-kissed color!

  21. Thanks! I've officially banned myself from the sun this summer, so I'm looking for new products to get my tan on. I would absolutely agree with Chelsea above - I just tried the Rodan and Fields Foaming Sunless Tanner for my sister's wedding and it was amazing!! Everyone thought it was a real tan!
