a short story.

Though I shied away from shorts for a few years, I'm head over heels for them these days. Because we're now into June, I thought it would be fun to devote a week of Friday's Fancies to this summery staple. If you need it, here is a little inspiration as you get your posts ready for tomorrow...

left column: top + middle + bottom  |  middle column: top + top middle + bottom middle + bottom
right column: top + bottom

I adore seeing two solids paired together. With a quick look at this collage, you'll see a lot of bold bright colors paired with a simple white top. Talk about the ultimate warm weather wear! A peek of pattern can also take this look to a whole new level. In other words, solids and patterns are both your friend!

The bottom line is this: shorts are here to stay--at least while the weather cooperates! All I have to say is that you folks who live in year-round short weather are lucky ducks.

{If you love shorts--or fashion in general, join the Friday's Fancies mailing list here so you can join in the future!} I'll see you all for a short + sweet round of Friday's Fancies tomorrow--have a fantastic Thursday!

  7. I just started loving the shorter shorts again. Not too short, but I am kinda bored with the Burmuda shorts, I will still wear them too, but for some reason I always feel more frumpy in them. I got some cute pairs at Old Navy yesterday for really great prices! :)

  10. Love your inspiration! We are finishing up our Friday's Fancies right now. Thanks again for all you did to host such an amazing Blogger Blitz last weekend! We are so happy that we got to meet so many amazing girls (and see Josh again) and most of all we were so thrilled to finally get to meet you. Can't wait for next time and if you ever come through Richmond, give us a shout!

  15. I've always gone for solids, but this season I've branched out and I now have two patterned shorts. Both are black and white so I can wear a color on top. It was risky, but I totally love them!

  18. This year I bought myself a pair of really pretty grass green shorts. Until now I have only paired them with a printed white top and a hot pink blazer. Shorts season in Estonia is very short (haha), from mid-June to the end of August, I'd say.
