bold + beautiful.

I'll admit: I'm not the biggest risk taker when it comes to my day-to-day fashion. I won't say I'm matchy-matchy, but many of my color combinations are rather predictable. Thankfully, with ideas from the blogosphere, pinterest, and tumblr, my tune is changing ever so gradually...

{left column: top + middle + bottom | right column: top + middle + bottom}

In the past, I might have said these color combinations didn't work. Today? I absolutely think they do! I'm embracing pops of pink {which is a color I admittedly used to avoid} and learning to trust my instincts.

With the focus for this week's Friday's Fancies on color, I'm hoping to tackle a new hue :) How are you challenging your own wardrobe this spring? Share your insights in how you get the courage to try something new! Hope your Tuesday is bright and colorful--even if it isn't in New England!

  3. i am loving the purple pants with the coral shoes! i really want to work more yellow into my wardrobe. it's one of my favorite colors, but for some reason, i don't gravitate toward it in a clothing sense. planning to change that up!

  5. This is a "problem" I never seem to have, rather I try to tone down my looks often for work! My love of Lilly has always steered me to some rather bright ensembles. ;)

  8. I was in Urban Outfitters yesterday and saw a pair of pale pink jeans. A color I associate with "girly" and "feminine".... but I started to imagine it with a leather jacket and gold spiky jewerly and suddenly I needed those pants more than anything ever.

  10. I'm not so adventurous with color and usually wear more neutral colored clothing, but I love the look of bold color combos. These pack quite the punch!

  11. Love the bold colors! :) I'm getting rid of most of my lazy college student wardrobe (tshirts and tops from AE) so I'd love to incorporate more bold (but not too ridiculously bold) professional tops into my wardrobe!

  15. The bolder, the better. I love pairing two colors together that I never would have deemed "acceptable" before, but colorblocking has tossed those rules out. I especially loving pairing bold colored statement necklaces with a bold, bright colored top.

    This Friday's Fancies is going to be fun!! I need to start working on it. ;)

  18. Sigh, I definitely need to brighten up my outfits. But the rain is TOTALLY making me stick with grays and blacks!

  19. i tend to lean towards more classic pieces that won't have me going "what was i thinking" when i look back at myself in 20 years. but all of these gorgeous colors and pairings are too attractive to pass up! can't wait to see what your FF holds this week :-)

  20. I can totally relate I tend to lean on the neutral/black/white side of clothing but over the past few years I've been adding color here and there, and I think I've gotten so much better with it. Pinterest and blogs totally help!

  21. I've always loved bright colors, I just haven't always been brave enough to wear more than one at once. I've been getting braver though, and I tried a bold combo for my Friday's Fancies look too!
