the long distance weekend.

the long distance weekend.

Weekends during our long distance years were the best: we spent every waking second with one another, be it enjoying a tasty brunch or taking a walk-through the farmer's market. Since our distance days are behind us, we are guilty of spending segments of our weekend alone. Guilty is a lose term, of course. We fall asleep next to one another every night, so time apart on the weekends is a function of getting things done. In the craziness of married life, {cv} and I rarely get to spend a weekend like we did during those years.

This weekend, we had what I'll call a "long distance weekend"...and I loved every minute of it. We had a real date night on Friday, spending the night chatting away at our new favorite restaurant. On Saturday afternoon, {cv} and I caught a matinee of a Broadway show. Later that night, we saw one of our favorite artists perform. It was a packed but perfect day. Sunday consisted of a walk-through on our lot {more to come on that this week!} and a Target run. We capped off the weekend with a flatbread pizza at a new neighborhood joint. I know it sounds like we had a "normal" weekend, but honestly, it took me back to those weekends in which we relished every moment of togetherness.

Every so often, I appreciate the reminders of what we endured. It gives light to how good we have it today. When I started this blog in 2010, we were still fresh off of our long distance years. If this post is any indication, those years are still very much a part of our story. I may not blog about long distance as often these days, but it will never be far from my memory, especially after weekends like this one. If you're still trudging through long distance, keep cherishing your weekends. As simple as it sounds, it will make your future weekends together that much more special. Hang onto that :) xoxo {av}

  1. I'm one of those who lives for the weekend right now. My partner and I met both as single parents and are now trying to figure out the best way to bring our two families together as we live two hours away from each other. I can't wait until we can do the same and look back on how far we have come. Sounds like a lovely weekend x

  5. My husband and I spent 3 years and 7,000 miles apart before we were married (he's British and I lived in CO). It was tough! Sometimes I catch myself getting annoyed going to Homie D's AGAIN, but then I recall all those times we didn't have "normal" and I just smile at how far we've come and how happy we are.

  7. After being in relationship with Wilson for seven years,he broke up with me, I did everything possible to bring him back but all was in vain, I wanted him back so much because of the love I have for him, I begged him with everything, I made promises but he refused. I explained my problem to someone online and she suggested that I should contact a spell caster that could help me cast a spell to bring him back but I am the type that don't believed in spell, I had no choice than to try it, I meant a spell caster called Dr Zuma zuk and I email him, and he told me there was no problem that everything will be okay before three days, that my ex will return to me before three days, he cast the spell and surprisingly in the second day, it was around 4pm. My ex called me, I was so surprised, I answered the call and all he said was that he was so sorry for everything that happened, that he wanted me to return to him, that he loves me so much. I was so happy and went to him, that was how we started living together happily again. Since then, I have made promise that anybody I know that have a relationship problem, I would be of help to such person by referring him or her to the only real and powerful spell caster who helped me with my own problem and who is different from all the fake ones out there. Anybody could need the help of the spell caster, his email: spiritualherbalisthealing@gmail.com or call him +2349055637784 you can email him if you need his assistance in your relationship or anything.
