how to pack for a work trip.

A month after I graduated from college, I started a job in sales. Six and a half years later, I still work for the same company and have mastered the art of packing for our two to three-day meetings every quarter. I learned quickly that going with a basic color palette was key. Work adventures are also recipes for terrible eating, so I began to pack my normal breakfast bars and made sure I had a water bottle on hand. I may not own the specific items below {though I wish I did}, but my version will be finding their way in my overnight bag for my meeting today.

From my experience, the basics are always best when it comes to work trips. I pack lighter + smarter!
What tips do you have for traveling for work? What always makes your suitcase?
I'll be nose down in my meeting today and tomorrow, but I'll be back with bells on Thursday!
See you then :) xoxo {av}

  2. I've definitely learned to keep it simple, too. Even packing for home I keep it pretty simple now. But I still have a separate suitcase/bag for my shoes ;)

  5. I always pack my spanx and cliff bars too! There certainly is an art to packing light, which I have not mastered at all. Great post!

  6. I'd die if I owned that watch! And I always try to pack light but it never works out. I'm a "what if this happens" kind of girl!

  8. I travel for work on a regular basis! I've also become a pro at packing - and I'm generally gone for 4 or 5 days. My running shoes ALWAYS make the cut! And I definitely bring my own snacks and waterbottle: Special K blueberry bars and almonds mixed with dry cranberries and dark chocolate M&M's.

  10. I always forget to bring clothes that I can relax in, like for after work drinks or going out. Obviously nothing too scandalous but sometimes you need something between what you wore to work and pajamas. :)
