ban the black borders.

Happy Monday! Today's post is of a different sort, so bear with me...
I love Instagram. I think many of you might share that love.
One thing I don't love?! Those pesky black borders.

Like many of you, I take my photos outside of Instagram and then use this magical program to make my photo infinitely better. After a few frustrations in the beginning, I simply altered my photo-taking habits. As a result, I rarely take photos horizontally on my iPhone. Not a single one of my Instagrams has those ugly borders--and I'm proud of it. Though I'm far from perfect, this is one easy way to make anyone's Instagram feed better.

This is my plea: make Instagram prettier and ban those black borders on your Instagram feed. Make it easier and shoot vertically if you plan to use Instagram. Those black borders don't make your photo more beautiful whatsoever. I hate to be blunt on this one, but I want to keep Instagram attractive. By banning those pesky borders, we can go a long way to making it more enchanting.

  4. I agree! I rarely take pictures outside of Instagram and NEVER take them horizontally in my iPhone! Sometimes I see a white border in people's Instagram pics, too and it's really ugly. I'm glad I was doing something right by not having borders lol!

  5. haha I don't like it either! Sometimes I take a photo and then it ends up not fitting in the square image, so I HAVE to have the black borders, but I try not to! I have a bunch of Instagram pet peeves, too- you're not alone!

  6. haha I'm not a fan of borders either. I've only been on there for about 2 weeks, and the first photo I posted I thought that maybe Instagram cropped it into a square for you. So I posted it and was like "what is THAT doing there!" But now I've got it figured out, so I've been okay after that first picture :)

  14. I take my photos whichever way is convenient & then edit them all in Camera+ before uploading them to Instagram. No black borders ever!

    1. you're far from an idiot! it's not the skinny black borders--it's those big honkin' ugly black borders that come up when people take a horizontal picture ;) xoxo

  18. I agree with DooleyNoteStyle. I don't understand what the black borders are. Are you talking about the filters that have black borders?

  19. This is my favorite post ever. Obsessed with Instagram, adamantly opposed to those borders. I've even seen them on the vertical ones lately. Super skinny photos. What's up with that?!
