down the cape.

In honor of tomorrow's patriotic-inspired Friday's Fancies, I thought it was the perfect time to share a few photos from Memorial Day + my birthday! We spent the long weekend on the Cape in lovely Osterville, Massachusetts. My best friend, {ch}, and her family were so kind to host us for the second year in a row :)

Every time we head out to the Cape, I find myself wishing I could stay just a little longer.
The views are spectacular and the environment is as quintessentially New England as you can get. During our Memorial Day visit, we cherished some much needed R&R, spent some time whipping
up some fun recipes {which I'll be sharing over the course of the summer}, and enjoyed some
wonderful time with the two friends who stood right next to us on our wedding day, {ch} and {ao}.
We even toasted to my 26th year, complete with a candle holder from my first birthday party!

Reminiscing about the Cape has me longing for the weekend! Over this holiday, we'll be traveling
to Blacksburg, Virginia for a wedding :) I've never been to this corner of the world--and I'm so
excited to see my friend {cc} become {ca}! We're hoping to catch some fireworks once we land
back in the Ocean State!

What is on your docket for the Fourth of July?
How are you doing on your summer bucket list?

Can't wait to hear about your plans--or see your festive Friday's Fancies tomorrow!
Have a lovely Thursday! xoxo {av}

  4. So happy you had a wonderful birthday! I haven't been to Cape Cod in ages (Mystic Seaport is closer to me, so that's where I get my summertime lobster rolls), but your photos have me itching for a road trip.

  10. the cape looks like it was a blast! have fun in blacksburg, it's a cool little college town. I've only been there once in college and I got a beercan thrown at my head by some drunk guy but lucky for you it's not gameday and you're not rooting for the opposing team so I'm sure you'll be fine! :)

  11. Aww looks like you guys had so much fun! We are driving up to Omaha tonight after work for a weekend of music, boating, friends and fireworks. Minus our 2 hour detour due to flooding in Iowa and Nebraska tonight, it should be a blast :)

  12. Cape Cod seems so very 4th of July-ish to me. Well that entire east coast area does! It's a goal of mine to go celebrate in Boston on the water one year! This year I'll be in Portland, doing your typical BBQ's & beer drinking :)

  17. Looks like a total blast! I wish I was heading there this weekend, but I'm also excited to be heading to the Sleeping Bear Dunes in Michigan for a camping trip since we won't be moving...

Yet another weird thing we have in common - our birthdays are both around memorial day weekend (mine is the 30th). We have SO MUCH in common, friend!
