rainy day chic.

Hello again! With April showers on the horizon, a rainy day chic theme for this week's Friday's Fancies seemed more than appropriate. I find myself looking for little ways to cheer up my rain routine. I'll admit that many of the items below err on the side of function, but their bright colors and solid structure take them to another level...

{left column: trench - umbrella - boots | middle column: top - bottom | right column: bag - flats - jacket - boots}

Though I sincerely wish I could rock heels like those in the rain, I'll stick to my boots and flats ;) After three years in New England, it shouldn't come as a surprise to see a few LLBean items in this round-up--or that beautiful tote made of old sails. North Face doesn't scream chic, but it is functional, which is half the battle for me. I'll be dreaming up the ultimate rainy day ensemble this Friday and I hope you'll join in the fun with me! Have a great Tuesday :)

  1. Rainy days aren't such a bad thing with such fun accessories. I love the Kate Spade flats - especially in the bright colors on their website.

  9. I love that North Face rain jacket. I feel like I just need to suck it up and buy a rain jacket. I'm still trying to just stay dry under an umbrella and 95 percent of the time, it doesn't work. Sigh. But wellies are totally the way to go. I don't think I could rock heels like that stylish lady either :)

  19. I'd rather have rain than the bipolar weather we're having here in Chicago. It's 30 degrees in the morning, 75 degrees in the afternoon...what gives?

    Love the L.L. Bean duck boots! I totally want to invest in a pair sometime soon.

  28. I'm thinking about investing in a good anorak to combat the windy/ rainy days we get here in DC come April. Also, as much as I love my Hunter's, they wear down WAYYY too easily for their price point. Thoughts an a cute alternative?

  29. I'm all about having a bright colored umbrella! I also have black Hunter wellies that go with everything.

  30. I always pull out my tiffany blue-colored trench coat (from Kohls, of all places!) on rainy days, and I think it's the article of clothing I get the most compliments on! So I can't say I mind rainy days too much :)
